I’m trying to identify a bacteria for microbiology class. I have it narrowed down to Citrobacter diversus or Serratia liquefaciens.. Do to an error in one of my tests I’m having trouble. Does anyone know what their margin, color, or colony style as a whole is like on a nutrient agar? Any pictures would be great too! Thanks in advance!

I’m reading over the MHC chapter in my immunology book and I was a little confused by this. It says that class I MHC molecules will often try and present self peptides but T cells only recognize nonself peptides. What happens to these self peptides then? Do they just stay there and hang out with the MHC on the cell surface? Are the class I MHC molecules just presenting random peptides that happen to fit into the cleft? Does anything come and remove these self peptides? Any clarification you can provide would be greatly appreciated because this is really bugging me.

Hi! I’m conducting an interview for my IMMUNOLOGY class. It requires persons who are 55+ years of age and I only need your initials (no name) and year of birth! TY!!! The questions to answer are the following(be free to add anything you’d like i.ex.: stories behind events, particular events, things that happened, etc.):

1. What do you remember about aspirin and its uses?
2.Do you remember drinking codfish liver oil? If so, with how much frequency? What were the reasons for drinking it? Do you still drink it?
3. What’s your favorite food? What do you ear in a typical day? Have you ever have overweight problems in you life? Do you have other conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure?
4. What are your favorite medicinal plants? Which type do you use in any given day? What are the effects you think they have on you? Have you ever used these medicinal plants for any other conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure???
…for the **** who thinks there is no such word as questionary.

btw… I’m from Puerto Rico, I just would like to know how did you all lived your childhood, over here there still was a lot of herbs and teas (still), and as for the ASPIRIN, she means what do you remember when you first heard about it and about what it did or was supposed to do! ty anyways!

I can’t bare being in class anymore! I feel like just uuuuuuuughhhhh! Its frustrating and I really don’t know what to do anymore!

Any tips?
Yes. Studying will help. Thank you. However, I was wondering if any has any USEFUL tips to doing well in this course. What is the best way to learn the material, etc.

It is definitely gram positive long rods in chains with a branched type look to it and I can actually see the endospores without even doing the endospore test. It is also non motile, and I know that it is definitely in the Bacillus family. It kind of resembles what anthrax looks like but, I know that it isn’t that. The teacher has already told us that we wouldn’t be working with Anthrax. So if any one has any Ideas on which microbe it may be it would be a huge help to me

I have a question for a Immunology class and I can’t seem to find the answer in the class notes and we don’t have a textbook for this class please help me!!!

The question is:

Neutrophils migrate to a site of tissue inflammation before blood monocytes. Explain the immune mechanisms involved with this selective recruitment of neutrophils. Why is it important to have neutrophils rather than blood monocytes arrive at the damaged or infected site first?

I have credits in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology. Wondering if actual universities will put these credits towards a degree.

I am taking premed classes so I will eventually need both but since I am not very good at math I didn’t know if I should take a refresher algebra before taking intro chem. If yes, I am taking the bio, if not I am taking the chem. I love biology but am only taking chem because it is required. Thanks!
