actually that is a good question.
your statment seems either a bit ambigious, or a bit unsound.
hard to tell without knowing exactly what you are actually attempting to state.
if you want to make it a little more accurate replace the word disappear with changes,
or
rewrite it entirely. something like:
Terrestrial Succession causes an entire aquatic ecosystem to dimenish, which in turn reduces biodiversity, until other organisms replace the species lost?
but then again, it depends on your audience and the purpose of the statement.
If you are trying to preach to the choir, about how terrestial life effects aquatic, and maybe trying to get people to follow your ideas of conservation…well leave it as is.
